The 9th Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championship, organized by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF), will be held in Ravenna, in the Standiana dock, just a few steps from Mirabilandia. It’s an important event, involving both athletes and their fans, which will take place from 3rd to 7th September 2014!
The dragon boat is a flat water sporting discipline, similar to rowing, in which are used 12.66 meters long boats, with the head and tail in the shape of a dragon, that have their origins in remote Chinese antiquity. These boats are driven by 20 athletes, who row the boats, sitting forward facing, at the pace set by the drummer, who sits in the bow, while the steer person at the stern controls the course of the boat with a steering oar about 3 meters long.
